Repurposing Antidiabetic Drugs against Respiratory Syncytial Viral Infection: A Docking Study

چکیده
Respiratory Syncytial Viral Infection is one of the most common viral infections in respiratory airways and more infants, younger children some adults. Although ribavirin has been used management RSV infection, many effective drugs are still under development. Also, structured based drug design using computational tools shifted paradigm discovery. The fusion core (RSV) structure crucial for its fusion, entry replication host cell. Herein, we investigated interruption formation and/or stability core. 15 ligands were screened 4 (Glimepiride, Glipizide, Canagloflozin, Glibenclamide) them potential candidate experimental validation, preclinical trials, clinical trials route administration optimization. To best our knowledge, this first time reporting lead molecules against from oral hypoglycemic agents. It also suggests consideration as prophylactics infants adults via inhalation route.

Emerging drugs for respiratory syncytial virus infection.
Although respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) was discovered > 40 years ago, treatment remains largely supportive. There are no safe and effective vaccines or specific treatments other than prophylaxis with passive antibody therapy (palivizumab). However, there are good reasons to think that the scene may soon change. As the pace of development of anti-viral drugs accelerates and optimism over vac...

Human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) is a major cause of severe respiratory tract illnesses in infants and young children worldwide. Despite its importance as a respiratory pathogen, there is currently no licensed vaccine for HRSV. Following failure of the initial trial of formalin-inactivated virus particle vaccine, continuous efforts have been made for the development of safe and efficaci...
متن کاملCaspase-1 Independent Viral Clearance and Adaptive Immunity Against Mucosal Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection is recognized by the innate immune system through Toll like receptors (TLRs) and retinoic acid inducible gene I. These pathways lead to the activation of type I interferons and resistance to infection. In contrast to TLRs, very few studies have examined the role of NOD-like receptors in viral recognition and induction of adaptive immune responses to R...
متن کاملDocking-based virtual screening of known drugs against murE of Mycobacterium tuberculosis towards repurposing for TB
Repurposing has gained momentum globally and become an alternative avenue for drug discovery because of its better success rate, and reduced cost, time and issues related to safety than the conventional drug discovery process. Several drugs have already been successfully repurposed for other clinical conditions including drug resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB). Though TB can be cured completely wit...
